Erica Vetra

Erica started practicing yoga over 20 years ago, and it has since played a huge role in shaping her life. She spent many years traveling and living abroad in Italy, Spain, New York, Mexico, Thailand, Greece, and Israel, practicing and teaching yoga and language. Her practice as a student took her deeper into her passion and journey as a teacher, and 11 years ago while living in Italy she began teaching Vinyasa style yoga. She has continued to teach yoga, fitness, and martial arts classes in studios all over the world and through the online business she has built, Vetra Fitness. She blends her backgrounds in yoga, martial arts, and strength training into an athletic and alignment based approach, using the fullness and softness of breath to create space and joy in the physical body. In her classes you will be encouraged to meet your Self – to discover and grow deeper in love, courage, and true strength both on and off your mat.

Jason Lobo

Jason Lobo started practicing yoga at Richard Freeman’s Yoga Workshop in Boulder, CO in 1999. He has been teaching asana and yoga philosophy since 2007. Jason’s teaching is informed by his long hours of disciplined study and practice in both Anusara Yoga and Iyengar Yoga, and by his studies and practice of Rajanaka Tantra, with Dr. Douglas Brooks.

Jason teaches alignment-based asana informed by non-dual, heart-centered Tantric philosophy. Students find his teaching to be humorous and challenging as well as nurturing, and appreciate his balance of clarity, enthusiasm, and wisdom.

An endorsement from George Purvis:

“What or who is Jason Lobo ? In today’s world of “yoga” what seems to be most important is branding or creativity just for the sake of being different . In Jason Lobo you’ll find an eclectic teacher that embraces “form follows function” and eternal virtues such as obedience, studentship and integrity. This package is becoming a rarity . Yes, Jason was a student of mine and considers me his mentor . However, I would be remiss if I did not say that as much I taught Jason, I learned from Jason . Now to give an even clearer perspective of my background, I’m an Iyengar teacher with 35+ yrs. of teaching experience, certified at the Senior Intermediate III level since 1993. You don’t want to miss the Wolf!

Words of wisdom from a Big Ol` Turtle, Tortuga Grande, AKA George Purvis.

Jenna Clark

RYT 200, Detour Method, BS Exercise Sports Science

Attending Teacher Training is where my life took a turn from being totally lost to having a purpose and a path, goals to work toward and a body to love. I was no longer spending my days and nights forgetting. It literally changed the life I was living. Even if you don’t want to teach, the training can help you discover your boundaries and push past them, discover your the difference between Self and ego and question it and find your passions and engage with them! You will leave everyday with a tired body, but the lift of your spirit and mind is intoxicating. If it’s calling to you, if TT is on your mind, you are ready for the transformation.

In this training I will be teaching a bunch of anatomy, mobility, and strength in yoga. How to tie things that aren’t necessarily yoga into a yoga class and still make it flow. My training with Cecily at Yoga Detour has allowed me to look at the poses and movements we do in class in a different way. I will be teaching embodiment and awareness within the poses to understand what’s doing the work, where we should feel it and how to make it feel better.

I trained with Jason Lobo at Namarupa to understand the basics of alignment and how to have a strong practice. Jason also knows everything about the history and philosophy side of yoga, so you’re in for a treat! My years of college were spent learning in depth about anatomy and physiology. I hope I can share everything I have accumulated over the years with you throughout this training.

Madeline Stone

E-RYT 200, RYT 500

Madeline Stone has been apart of the Easy Tiger Tribe since the beginning. Maddy was first introduced to yoga in 2012 in Austin,TX. In 2017 she found the teacher training program at Namah Shivaya Jyoti Yoga and completed the 200hr Hatha course. In December 2017 she completed a Yin Yoga training with Gioconda Parker. She completed her 500hr certification at Practice Yoga Austin with an emphasis on Advanced Asana and Philosophy. All of her Advanced Yoga teacher training has been directly from the wise and knowledgeable minds of her wonderful teachers- Gioconda Parker, Iva Drtina Hall, Jenn Wooten, Shanti Kelley, Shawn Kent, and Kiely Walters.

Maddy specializes in Yin Yoga and knows it has helped her find more balance in life. Maddy will be focusing on Yin Yoga and Trauma Informed Yoga during this TT. Maddy’s classes focus on awareness, the self, being present, and cultivating a sense of wholeness through acceptance. Her goal as a yoga teacher is to help others to know they have the ability to heal themselves.

Why Teacher Training? Making the decision to do my 200hr TT was a big one for me. I knew I wanted to do it and it was 100% right in my heart, mind, and gut but I had to get everything else in line to make it happen, and glad I did. It changed my life, there was a huge shift for me because I finally said yes to investing in myself. I was constantly inspired and lots of yoga was nice too. Understanding the practice of yoga on a deeper level taught me so much more than poses on a mat, but deep values I wanted to take with me on the journey of life. If you feel the calling I hope to see you in March!
